Houston Rockets: James Harden still pushing for a trade
Bad news for the Houston Rockets. Despite the franchise’s efforts to keep star man James Harden on board, he’s still pushing for a trade, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirms. Let’s dive into this story while we take a break from our free sports picks for today.
James Harden is one of Houston Rockets’ symbols, but he now believes his time in the franchise is over. According to some rumours he’s dreaming of joining the Brooklyn Nets and forming a fearsome team with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. We can’t be absolutely sure about Harden’s plans, but one thing is for sure – he wants out.
Last week the Houston Rockets started their pre-season without Harden who arrived a little bit late at the training camp. Even if we see him in action during the pre-season games, most likely it’s not going to change his mind, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
But why are the Rockets not letting the superstar guard go? Because of multiple reasons.
At this moment James Harden has two years remaining of his contract with the Rockets. Even if the Rockets decide to let him go to the Nets in Brooklyn they can’t really put all the pieces together to do the deal.
Another franchise which contemplates about signing James Hardes is the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers have the same problems at the Nets, though – if they want to sign Harden, they must let someone like Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons go. And certainly this is not something which is going to happen right now.
