NBA’s All-Star MVP Award renamed after Kobe Bryant

The NBA found a pretty good way to honour one of its biggest legends Kobe Bryant. The former Los Angeles Lakers star tragically died in a helicopter crash on January 26. He’s always going to be remembered as one of the finest players that ever played in the NBA. Let’s see what’s going on while we’re working on our nba free picks for you.

It was announced that the NBA’s All-Star MVP Award is going to be renamed after Kobe Bryant. The news were confirmed by the league’s commissioner Adam Silver on Sunday. He spoke to the press during the All-Star weekend and revealed that this is one of the ways the NBA can honour the Black Mamba right now. He stated that Kobe Bryant was a player who “embodied the spirit of the All-Star – this celebration of the game”.

It was not the only way Kobe Bryant was honoured by the league. It was announced that he’s now a finalist for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, while they also changed the format of the All-Star game. In order to win the game, one of the teams must score 24 points more than the other. Both teams will wear the No. 2 and No. 24 jerseys, honouring Bryant and his 13-years old daughter Gianna.

Of course, Kobe Bryant’s death will be mourned for a long time by the whole NBA community, but these are some good ideas from the league to pay respect to the legendary Black Mamba – one of the best to ever play this game. What happened at the end of the last month was truly tragic, but sometimes life is cruel.
