The Texans axe Romeo Crennel, appoint Anthony Weaver as DC
While we are preparing our next free nfl picks for you, we are going to provide you with some interesting news for the league. And here’s one – the Houston Texans are sacking Romeo Crennel as their defensive coordinator, replacing him with Anthony Weaver. This is a pretty important step which the team makes in its preparation for the next season.
The news are still not confirmed and they were reported first by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. We await confirmation to come pretty soon.
Romeo Crennel were the defensive leader of the Texans for a lot of time, but now in Houston they decided they need a change. Crennel still could stay in the team, but having another position. Most likely the Texans will meet with him in the coming days to discuss that.
Retirement is another option for Romeo Crennel. After all, he’s now 72-years old. He was working as a DC for the Texans from 2014.
This season Houston Texans didn’t reach the Super Bowl after being eliminated from the Kansas City Chiefs. This is probably the main reason why the Texans won’t stick with him for at least one more season.
Anthony Weaver is the man who was chosen to replace Romeo Crennel. For a first time in his career so far, he will have the chance to command a full defense. Since 2016 he was Texans’ defensive line coach, but now it’s a bigger responsibility coming to him. We believe that’s the right decision as the Texans need some upgrade in their defensive performance.
We are waiting for the Super Bowl as everyone else, so stick to our free nfl picks. Let’s hope we are going to get the spectacle we all hope for. After all, this is the biggest sport event in the country.
